Charles Gilmore Robinson was born on February 23, 1919. He was the oldest son and the second oldest of seven children to William Norris Robinson and Elise Margrethe Somme Robinson.

He was my grandfather, Frank William Robinson’s, older brother and my Great Uncle. I never got a chance to meet him, as he died from Malaria on May 7th, 1942 as a result of the Bataan Death March at the age of 23.

I started to research the Bataan Death March and specifically information related to my Uncle Charles more than 20 years ago. I have been accumulating information and documents from family, friends and the internet since then.  

The Greatest Generation that Charles and my Grandpa were a part of is mostly gone now. This page is dedicated to the memory of Charles as well as my Grandpa Frank, who missed him greatly and did not get to know his brother as a mature adult. 

My hope is that the next generation will not forget…
